‘KAY-VA-LAY-AH’
Therapeutic Massage
This is also known as Swedish Massage and uses techniques to warm the muscles, such as kneading to release tension and knots, and knuckling to dislodge toxins from the muscle fibres. This massage will leave you with a sense of well-being. It can be a deep massage really working on the deeper tissues of your body or can be lighter to induce deep relaxation depending on your preference.
Massage works on the physical body to relieve built up stress and tension quite often held in the back, neck or shoulders, sometimes caused from sitting in one position for too long at a desk, computer, on a phone, driving or excessive or incorrect exercising.
Muscular aches and pains can also be caused by mental or emotional stress such as overwork, family situations, relationships, moving house or changing jobs. The nervous system is affected through the nerve endings on the skin which releases the body’s ‘feel good’ hormones. This helps to improve your mood, sleeping patterns and your ability to deal with situations and make decisions.
Whatever is the root of your stress or whether you feel tight from your scalp to your feet, massage can help to relax your body and mind giving you a more relaxed attitude to life.
